1:1 Wellbeing Support

Bobby was referred to me as they had been acting aggressively towards members of staff and had been placed on a reduced timetable. They were also at risk of expulsion. Over the course of several weeks I explored their lived experience through splatter art, painting and the use of clay. Bobby learnt to decipher between different emotions and when and where their triggers were most likely to occur. By exploring Bobby’s emotions in certain situations, they were able to make autonomous decisions as to how they wished to continue forward. Bobby worked hard to achieve their goals resulting in them attending school full time with a reduction in their aggressive behaviour.

Group Wellbeing Session

5 young people from a Lincolnshire secondary school explored the themes of risk-taking behaviour, communication, healthy vs unhealthy relationships, self-esteem, identity and aspirations for their future over the course of 6 weeks. They did this using a variety of creative methods, all of which were accessible at each session, allowing for the young people to use the mediums they felt most comfortable with. These included building blocks, clay, painting, splatter art, spray painting, puppet making and crafts. The young people reported progress in knowledge around these themes, with some even opening up about personal experiences that they felt safe to communicate with the practitioner and the group.
